Car history:
Original Numbers Matching 1954 Corvette
Only 3640 Corvettes were built in 1954 and this was the first year they were
offered to the public. This body style was made in 1953, 1954, and 1955. Only
4640 of this body style were ever built. Its been estimated that only about 1000,
1954 examples exist today. The 1953 and 1954 Corvettes all came with the same
options except for the paint colour. The only way to positively identify which colour
the cars came off the assembly line with, is the Dealer Bill of Sale/Invoice. There
was no tank or window sticker in those years.

I purchased this car from a gentleman that owned the car from 1975, till I brought
the car in 2005. This previous owner, owned Kearns Chevrolet in Coquiltam BC,
and this car was the center piece of their showroom . The elderly gentleman
bought this car in California in 1975 and brought it to BC, where he drove it for
approximately 1000 miles before parking it for good in 1982. When I bought the
car it had been sitting on the same footprint for 23 years (since 1982) in his
garage. Im a Big Block muscle car (and recently Porsche) kind of guy, but
there was something about this car that really interested me. I did a lot of
research before deciding to make an offer. My researched told me that this car
was 100% original, unrestored, and had every part that it left the factory with in
1954. It was obvious to me that this car came from California as there was no
rust of any sort anywhere on the car. I had never seen a "time piece" like this
ever, and is the reason I bought this car and brought it back to its "former glory".
I thought the car would make a cool "family heirloom", but as the kids get older I
see that a boat would be more practical for us.

This car could easily have qualified and been judged as a "Survivor" but in my
mind, what good is a car that you can't drive more than just around the block? I
spent the next 7 years slowly researching and restoring this car using all parts it
came with from the factory. My research included obtaining Noland Adams
literature, scowering the Web and documenting the 1954 unrestored (and
several restored) examples sold at Barrett Jackson, Mecum, Russo & Steele, and
RM Auctions. Im a bit obsessive in some ways. Ive always been a Corvette fan,
owned and driven many, and wanted to do this fine example justice. I'm a
Certified Red Seal Automotive Technician (that's had an office job for a few years)
and actually enjoyed this challenge.

I know I already said it, but this car is 100% original.

Body VIN # E54S004459 Engine Serial # 079372I F54YG
Camshaft # 3836390 ( with the 3 raised dots)
Cyl Head # 3836241
Transmission # 3702602 C809D V
Carburetors : Carter YC Side Draft (all housing numbers match carb to carb)
Fuel Pump # 9797 (with the original AC Glass Bowl)
Generator #1102793 4F29
Starter # 1108035 4E21

The engine and transmission contained their original 1954 gaskets and seals and
leaked from every possible spot. The transmission was disassembled, inspected,
and put back together with new clutch plates, gaskets, and seals. When the
transmission had all the road grime removed, the letters CV were discoverred
painted yellow with a brush from the factory on the front and rear cases (can be
seen on the photos in the link). On the forward case of the transmission I
discoverred the letters VETTE in chalk written from the factory in 1954 (also in the
photos). Before removing the engine, the compression was checked, all 6
cylinders had strong compression (155lbs). The engine was disassembled,
inspected, and reassambled with all new Fel Pro gaskets and seals. The rod and
main bearing clearances were checked and found to be right in the middle of
allowed tolerances. All the coolant hoses are new, the radiator has been flushed
and pressure tested, and the coolant reservoir has been rechromed. The exhaust
was also replaced and the original exhaust manifold was shot-peened.

The differential had all gaskets and seals replaced and has new fluid.

The original fuel tank was dipped and cleaned, the original (2 piece) fuel line was
cleaned, reused and also looks new. The original fuel pump was rebuilt and the
original carburetors were also rebuilt.

The original Brake Master Cylinder and the original 4 wheel cylinders were
rebuilt. The original brake lines (no kidding) were all cleaned and look new.

The hubcaps are the original hubcaps (not repro's). The Firestone Deluxe
Champion 6.70-15 "Gum/Dipped" tires on the car when I bought it, had very little
treadwear but had flat spots from sitting in the same spot for 23 years. All 4 tires
were replaced with the same tires and the tubes were also replaced. The car
rides very smooth and drives straight.

The chrome was in good condition, I wasn't satisfied with good. Over the course
of 7 years spent a lot of money rechroming. I used the most expensive chrome
shop (and best thankfully) who "tripple chromed" 95% of the car's chrome.
Included in the rechrome were all the original gauge bezel and any pits were
removed. All the lenses were replaced with new lenses that surprised me by
being exact replicas. All the gauges have 1954 dates stamped on their housings
from the factory. The taillight lenses have a 1953 date stamp on them as well.

The convertible top is the original top, however someone (pre-1975) dyed the top
the 1953 Black colour. The inside of the top however is still the original Tan colour.

The interior is the original interior. The original date tags are still intact on the
bottom of each seat and read 12.17.53, photos are on the link.

This Corvette looks and drives great. I get more looks driving this car than I do
with the Ferarri !!

I have been involved with shipping several cars over the years by coverred/enclosed
transport and can assist with that process however, all transportation costs are the
buyers responsibilty.

This car is my personal car and has been my passion since 2005. It is stored in a
heated secure facility in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Please do not hesitate to ask questions through eBay.
I'm more than happy to answer them.
